Since Recycl8 were selected as a low carbon concrete provider for the Collective, they have been involved in a number of successful trials using their R8 Mix binder.
Recycl8 team members Mark Gillespie (CEO), Jim Young (Technical Industry Consultant) and Project Engineer Daniel Wisley had the pleasure of visiting the team at Ibstock plc.
Ibstock has been manufacturing cable trough production trial units for Network Rail using the sustainable technology firm’s R8 Mix.
CEO of Recycl8, Mark Gillespie, said:
“We are delighted to be working with Ibstock and Network Rail as part of the Collective. Being part of the Collective gives us a fantastic platform to showcase the capabilities of our sustainable, Circular Economy lower carbon concrete technology. Collaborating with such high-profile strategic partners is absolutely key to unlocking the potential of our technology and driving down carbon emissions across our built environment and infrastructure.
“We are looking forward to seeing the units installed on site, and supporting Network Rail in exploring more sustainable infrastructure solutions.”
June 2025
Recycl8 joined forces with partners Marshalls for a manufacturing trial of precast manhole rings for Scottish Water using their R8 Mix lower carbon concrete.
This resulted in a successful production run and encouraging performance data, showing how circular, innovative solutions like R8 Mix can meet the demands of real-world infrastructure.
